Why do foreign eggs look more orange than yellow? In the states, the yolks are very yellow instead of orange.

    thanks!

White eggs come from white chickens and brown eggs come from brown-ish chickens. Just depends on the Chicken laying the egg, but the yolk and white are no different in taste despite the colour :)

I think she meant the colour of he yolks, not the colour of the shell.
For the yolks there is actually a scale of I think about 14 different clours, which range from a very pale yellow to an almost orange. What colour the yolk will be, depends on what the chickens ate. So, supermarkets etc. actually choose which colour they want their egg yolk to be; mostly different nations have different preferences.

I HAVE A QUESTION :D can i replace self raising powder with baking powder? :]

  21. karen14oct on June 8th, 2009 2:36 am

    Xbe,
No you can’t. Self raising flour is mostly flour with a certain small amount of baking powder. Baking powder is, well, just baking powder.

    oo thankss :]
